BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) — A concluding meeting for the education campaign on “staying true to our founding mission and keeping our original aspiration firmly in mind” was held in Beijing on Friday. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. He stressed that for our Party to always enjoy the endorsement and support of the people and to achieve the great cause of the Chinese nation for generations to come, it must always keep its original aspiration and mission firmly in mind. It must resolutely eliminate all factors that weaken the Party's advanced nature and undermine its purity, resolutely cut out all tumors that grow on the Party's body, and resolutely guard against all dangers that violate the original aspiration and mission and undermine the Party's foundation. The entire Party must take this thematic education as a new starting point to continuously deepen the Party's self-revolution and persistently advance the whole Party in staying true to its original aspiration and mission.

Xi Jinping pointed out that launching the “Staying True to Our Founding Mission” education campaign throughout the Party was a major decision made at the 19th CPC National Congress. The Party Central Committee attached great importance to it, made meticulous preparations, and organized it carefully. Starting from late May last year, the campaign was conducted in two phases from top to bottom and has now basically concluded. Party organizations at all levels vigorously promoted it, Party members and cadres actively participated, and the people enthusiastically supported it. The entire campaign was distinctive, solid, and well-organized, achieving its intended objectives and yielding significant results. Party organizations at all levels and the broad masses of Party members and cadres have deeply studied and practiced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. They have enhanced their ability to integrate knowledge, belief, and action; strengthened their ideological and practical commitment to upholding the founding mission and fulfilling responsibilities; advanced reform, development, and stability; actively addressed the most urgent, pressing, and long-awaited concerns of the people; fostered a clean and upright political environment; and eliminated factors that could undermine the Party's foundation or obstruct its cause. This overcame the disconnect between learning and practice, ensuring that the Party's concentrated education remained on track. Second, it emphasized leading by example and setting benchmarks, with the “key minority” demonstrating to drive the “vast majority.” Through meticulous planning and the promotion of responsibility, it ensured consistent implementation and concrete results. Third, it pursued organic integration and unified advancement, combining learning with action and linking inspection with rectification. By studying, researching, inspecting, and rectifying simultaneously, it enhanced the quality of the thematic education and elevated the overall effectiveness of the Party's concentrated education. Fourth, we focused on problems and implemented precise rectifications, advancing implementation item by item. We did not relax until problems were resolved, did not let up until solutions were thorough, and did not stop until the people were satisfied, ensuring that the results achieved could withstand the test of practice, the people, and history. Fifth, we strengthened supervision and guidance, applying pressure both internally and externally. We enhanced policy research and guidance, advanced efforts in a tiered and categorized manner, tightened and solidified responsibilities, and kept our doors open, inviting the people to participate, supervise, and evaluate. Sixth, we resolutely reject empty gestures and pursue tangible results. Combating formalism and bureaucracy is a paramount requirement. We integrate the thematic education with the implementation of all requirements for the “Year of Reducing Burdens on Grassroots Levels,” freeing grassroots cadres from the shackles of formalism to enable them to work diligently and effectively. While fully acknowledging achievements, we must also clearly recognize existing problems. We must see things through to the end and achieve success, ensuring that the requirements for exercising full and rigorous Party self-governance are truly implemented.
