In the engineering field, as a "sulfur recovery expert", the company's independently developed "non-online furnace sulfur recovery process technology" has reached the domestic leading and international advanced level; the "Technology and Application of Acid Gas Sulfur Resource Recovery and Tail Gas Purification for Ultra-Low Emission" has passed the appraisal and review of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, which believes that the achievement is generally at the international leading level. As of June 30. 2025. the company has completed a total of 245 sets of sulfur recovery unit designs and general contracting projects, with a total unit scale of 13.166 million tons/year, making it the company with the most sulfur recovery unit designs and general contracting projects in China. Meanwhile, the company has strong market competitiveness in energy-saving and environmental protection engineering technology fields such as comprehensive utilization of C4 resources, high-pressure hydrogenation, acidic water vapor treatment, flue gas treatment, and sewage treatment. It has also accumulated rich experience through multiple project practices in new energy engineering fields such as hydrogen energy, molten salt energy storage, and compressed air energy storage, achieving good demonstration and social effects. In the chemical field, the company holds independent intellectual property rights of oxo synthesis technology required for the synthesis of n-propanal and n-pentanal, butanol-octanol residue recovery technology, and aldehyde hydrogenation technology. It also masters the production technologies of propionic acid (butyric acid, valeric acid), isooctanoic acid, cellulose acetate butyrate and its derivatives, standing in a leading position in the industry. In the catalyst field, the company has developed an internationally leading low water-gas ratio sulfur-tolerant shift process and catalyst, and can provide technical services such as process packages and patented equipment.

The non-online furnace sulfur recovery process technology and the sulfur recovery technology for acidic gases in coal chemical industries have been designated as national key environmental protection practical technologies.

The project “Ultra-Low Emission Technology and Application for Acid Gas Sulfur Resource Recovery and Tail Gas Purification,” jointly completed by the company and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, has passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal conducted by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The project is recognized as being at the international leading level overall.

The company's 2019 Shandong Provincial Major Science and Technology Innovation Project, “Technology and Application for Resource Recovery and High-Value Utilization of Acidic Waste Gases in the Chemical Industry,” has passed the comprehensive performance evaluation.

The company-led project “Development and Industrialization of Key Technologies for High-Performance Cellulose Acetate Butyrate” has been selected for the 2025 Provincial Key R&D Program (Major Science and Technology Innovation Project), securing 10 million yuan in provincial science and technology special funding.

The appraisal conference for the new sulfur-tolerant conversion process using low-moisture organic sulfur conversion catalysts and dual-high feed gas confirmed that the technology is at the international leading level.
