On the morning of August 15, the Group Company held its 2024 Mid-Year Safety Inspection Summary Meeting. The meeting provided a comprehensive review of the company’s 2024 mid-year safety inspection activities and outlined the next steps for safety management initiatives. Qu Sichun, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group Company, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Safety expert Gong Jianbo, Vice Chairman Sun Bo, President Feng Yiyuan, along with key leaders from each subsidiary and relevant executives, also participated. The meeting was chaired by Li Tiejun, Vice President and Chief Safety Officer of the Group Company.
Expert Gong Jianbo from the professional inspection team reported on the assessment of safety infrastructure, process and equipment control, risk identification, and hazard management. He provided a detailed critique of the safety production issues and potential risks found at each manufacturing enterprise, highlighting both common problems across all units as well as specific challenges unique to individual subsidiaries. Additionally, he offered targeted improvement suggestions based on the issues uncovered during the inspection process.
Li Tiejun, Vice President of the Group Company, Director of Safety, and member of the Professional Inspection Team, presented an overview of the safety inspection of production facilities' processes and equipment, highlighting key areas such as process operations, equipment maintenance, site conditions, and shift handover management. He acknowledged the achievements made by each subsidiary in safety management, while also pointing out specific shortcomings in on-site management practices.
Li Tiejun, Vice President and Chief Safety Officer of the Group Company, outlined specific arrangements for the next phase of safety management and set forth the following requirements for the company’s safety initiatives: 1. Top executives must prioritize safety management. 2. Safety management personnel should serve as both the leader’s vigilant protectors and frontline fighters, helping the company achieve sustainable growth while staying firmly on the path of legal and compliant operations—and leveraging their expertise to effectively mitigate and avoid risks. 3. Responsibilities must be clearly defined, ensuring that the safety production responsibility system is fully implemented. 4. It is essential to correctly interpret national regulations and standards, operating in strict accordance with the law.
Feng Yiyuan, President of the Group Company, expressed gratitude to the experts and all members of the inspection teams for their hard work during the inspection process. He urged the Group Company and its subsidiaries to take this comprehensive safety check as an opportunity to earnestly embrace expert guidance, assume primary responsibility, further refine and standardize their systems, eliminate potential hazards, and effectively enhance their safety management practices—ensuring that all facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Qu Siquiu, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group Corporation, expressed gratitude for the experts' professional advice and insights, and praised the inspection team for their hard work despite challenging weather conditions during the assessment. He emphasized that this inspection clearly highlighted the safety management levels, attitudes, and capabilities of each enterprise, adding that ensuring safety is the foundation for all other endeavors. Following this comprehensive safety review, he urged each subsidiary to proactively address the issues raised by the experts, going beyond mere responses to identify and tackle the root causes of any problems.
Qu Dong emphasized: First, it is crucial to implement the safety production responsibility system at every level. Each subsidiary must establish and refine its own safety responsibility framework, ensuring that this system reaches every tier of personnel. Upholding the principles of "safety first, quality paramount," we must strictly adhere to both national regulations and company standards. Second, we need to strengthen training initiatives. As the nation continuously updates its rules and regulations on safety production, the company mandates comprehensive training programs—from senior management down to frontline staff—to keep everyone informed and prepared. Third, we must increase investment in safety measures appropriately. Any significant safety hazards identified during the production process must be promptly addressed and rectified. Engineering companies should rigorously follow industry standards and specifications throughout the design phase, while production units must adhere meticulously to these guidelines, firmly establishing a robust safety foundation—without ever taking shortcuts or relying on luck. Fourth, we must cultivate a strong safety culture by embedding safety values deeply into the mindset of every employee. Subsidiaries should actively share best practices in safety management, learning from each other’s strengths while addressing their own weaknesses. Finally, everyone across the company—management and employees alike—must embrace the concept of "inherently safe operations," focusing on proactive safety measures right from the outset. Engineering companies, in particular, should leverage their unique design expertise to drive innovation and excellence in safety practices. Through this comprehensive inspection, we aim to bolster safety performance across the entire group, further enhancing employees’ safety awareness and fostering a workplace culture where safety is prioritized at every level.
